How Others Experienced the Aligned for Mercury Retrograde Program

May 26th 2008 Retrograde Experiences....

"It was a very powerful Mercury retrograde for the work that I was doing. I put together a series of pieces following the government's formal apology to native people for the government-run aboriginal schools (would love to know more, Julie, about Canada's chart for that day). The stories from people who'd lived in the schools were very moving .. and a retrograde period seems the best possible time for an apology and re-evaluation. And in Gemini, it does suggest that it would involve children. There were also little studio details just as Mercury went retrograde that I was able to catch (whew!) so I felt lucky on that score alone. And there were some classic Mercury hitches going on with my tenants ... a car had to be moved to the other side of the street for tenants who'd gone on holidays, involving couriering of keys and many anxious emails. Another tenant's phone line was disconnected and yet another tenant who'd moved out called to reconnect. I was able to take a pretty philosophical approach to the problems .. and in small ways, the retrograde strengthened relationships in the house as a whole .. And yesterday, I thought of a couple of exciting new possibilities relating to work -- the kind of fresh thinking that felt as though it had tremendous energy in it. So a very interesting time." - M.
"My Intentions are noted below. Almost simultaneously with the e-mail that Carolyn sent out, I came to a realization that I relationship I was having needed to change to include me - I have a tendency to "go along" with how the other person sees things unfolding. I determined to put myself in the equation and did so, recognizing that what I wanted might not be possible for the other person but the way it was currently going wasn't possible for me. I don't know what will happen. This is a first for me...talking responsibility for getting my needs met and letting go of the outcome. The recognition and action taken also affected other relationships and required that I tell another person what had been going on and also that I was not satisfied with how our relationship was going and we are now in a discussion about what I'm wanting from this second relationship. This is a first for me where I have tabled that I am not happy with how things are and entering into a dialogue about how to improve them as well as other options. Both of these things give me the opportunity to co-create my relationships instead of either following or leading. They all require “letting go” and trusting that I am exactly where I need to be and that what is happening is perfect for me in the moment. I have had tons and tons of communicate (intricate, annoying, difficult to explain) exchanges that are enough to drive you crazy – my team and I laugh, smile and say “Mercury Retrograde”. A lot has happened since it started. Thanks – I got a lot of healing out of it. I want to get more comfortable expressing my creativity and sexuality - get in touch with my playful inner child and share that with those that touch me. I want clarity in determining the right step and direction that my life needs to take in order for me to be healed. So far I have had only one major communication snafu this time. It was a doozy and still remains to be sorted out. But I can own my role and hear the the other person, with the aim of building and enriching this friendship. On the other hand, there have been several communications between me and others, people I have had little contact with of late - this has been so positive and perhaps the result of a new openness to possibilities during this time. - Ev
"I have had several potentially irritating disruptions in the last few days, but each time all has been salvaged quite smoothly. I feel like the people who are around me have had their little stops salvaged also. I had made the intention that people I care about would benefit from my Mercury repatterning. One small example: tonight I went to a concert with my brother. He couldn't find one of the tickets. We were beginning to backtrack all the way back to his house when I found the ticket behind his car seat. We were relieved it was only a short delay and we were soon off again. Also, things in general just seem organized, from my kitchen to my clothing to my work. It's as if years of battle suddenly melted. I am functioning like never before, doing all the little things (joyfully) to put things in an order that feels right. Also, I went through my files like it was nothing. I really had decided with this repatterning that I wouldn't even make my files an issue, but I found myself going through them--it was a swift operation and now I have a simple perspective on them, which is a minor miracle since I have been stressed over them for years. Really quite incredible as I think about all of this, because I have felt like a mess for so long. Things can change fast." - - Gina
Previous Retrograde Experiences....
I just wanted to share one of the ways the Mercury Retrograde alignment manifested in my life. About a week after Mercury went retrograde, I was in the middle of a busy day with many scheduled appointments that couldn't easily be rescheduled. Of course Mercury ruling transportation, the retrograde dealt me a flat tire in the middle of my day. However, being aligned to the retrograde meant that I was able to easily handle the flat with no impact to my schedule. The flat happened less than a block from my hair appointment. I safely coasted to the curb right in front of the salon. I called my emergency service and went in for my appointment. Very soon after the repairman showed up and changed my tire, with the receptionist bringing me the papers to sign when he was done. The whole process was completed before my hair color was done. So I was able to get on to my next appointment and then take my car in for a new tire the next morning. I remember thinking "this was the most painless flat tire I have ever had - if only all problems could be solved so easily!"

I found myself reaming out my closet and drawers in the afternoon prior to the evening proxy session. It felt so great (so clean, so refreshing and so light) I had a hard time stopping myself when I did. When I got Carolyn's email the next day which, among other things, asked me to get rid of one thing to honour retrograde Mercury, I felt very affirmed and in tune with the purpose of this session. I am amazed! After feeling utterly fatigued and not making any progress, I felt 'unblocked' and have gotten so many things done. Cleaned out my freezer for starts, and just a lot of things are moving. It works, I am sure. Thank you both.

I had cancer-related surgery on March 31, which left me with a drain tube coming out of my chest. I have a home nurse who comes in every day to drain the reservoir form the tube. Up to April 6 I was typically draining approximately 50 to 80 cc per day. In fact, the day before the distance healing was my biggest day - 80 cc. Immediately following the session the drainage stopped - dead cold. The tube was removed the following day. Awfully coincidental.

An antique fireplace insert that was removed during a renovation had been taking up space in my house for weeks .... very heavy, maybe worth some money -- I didn't know what to do with it -- found happy owner over the Easter weekend, so maybe the Mercury R. repatterning was still happening ... a friend spotted it and loved it .. he's going to take it to this Victorian thing to his cottage in the bush .. and in exchange he'll help me pound up some pavement in the backyard, another retrograde task.

I was really ready to "escape" from the city into nature but work and finances were making it iffy. At the last minute on April 7, after much back and forth, my husband and I found an incredible deal on a beautiful hotel in Niagara Falls just an hour and a half away. I hadn't been there for many years and had no idea what to expect. It was fantastic, a lot of fun and a wonderful mental/spiritual/emotional break! Everything went very smoothly, which is unusual considering travel is ruled by Mercury and it is retrograde!!
